Detox Yoga Workshop
Why do Detox Yoga?

This workshop is designed to help you kick straight your body and mind for the new year!
Detoxification clears your mind, resets your body and boosts your energy whilst building strength and flexibility. If you practice daily, you will start to feel healthier, more energetic and stronger.

Practice will at first be active, in order to vigorously aid the purification of the body.
You will be guided through breathing techniques to cleanse.

Followed by Asanas to target the main organs which will help the detoxification process.
Meditation and breathing techniques will integrate with energetic bodies in a mindful matter.

We will then grow more restorative to explore and allow us to sit with the space we have created.

You will leave with the knowledge of how to do this yourself at home if you choose to. The great thing is you can tailor the skills to you suit your specific needs.

Let’s get started!

Why do a Yoga Workshop?

Perhaps you attend yoga classes regularly and you’ve even established a home practice. If you’d like to deepen and your further your practice and learn more about a specific aspect of the practice yoga workshops can offer this experiences beyond those usually included in a typical 60-90-minute class.

Yoga Workshop

A workshop normally lasts for 2-3 hours or takes place over a long weekend. Workshops focus on a specific aspect of yoga, asanas, breathing practice, meditation or a particular limb (guidelines) of yoga. The possibilities are completely different but they all have one thing in common, participating in the practice of yoga.

Time restraints

Time restraints. In today’s world, we’re under a lot of time pressure and we can sometimes rush to and from a yoga class and don’t benefit as much as we could be. workshop offers more time to experiment with posturesmore detailed instruction will happen as time allows this.

Deepen your practice. The beauty of a workshop is that there is more time to absorb what your body is telling you, ask questions, analyze practices, postures, breathing techniques and deepen your awareness and knowledge. Asana is a beautiful way to develop self-knowledge, but it’s the tip of the yoga iceberg. Hidden depths are waiting to be discovered. Workshops can be very rewarding.

Shift your awareness

Shift your awareness.  The intensive focus of a workshop may answer questions you didn’t even know you had. Focusing on yoga for a couple of hours or throughout a weekend also shifts your awareness.

Find your tribe

Find your tribe. You’ll connect with a group interested in the same themes, and have more opportunities to interact while you share experiences on the mat and off. Let your yoga mat take you places….for instance, pick a teacher, studio or venue you’ve been wanting to visit, who knows where the journey will take you.

Renew your commitment

Renew your commitment. Trying something new can help you appreciate your practice all over again. Especially good times to shake things up are the change in seasons,  holidays, birthdays or whenever you need renewed energy and a fiercer focus on your practice!

Back-bends are one of the best medicine for a sedentary lifestyle as they counteract the negative affects of sitting so much.

Enliven your spine

Many people suffer from back problems, back-bends can be very beneficial for many back issues. They improve spinal flexibility and release tension and tiredness in the muscles. With the front of the body open and the shoulders wide, the breath deepens, slows and lengthens. By opening the chest and heart while stretching the whole front of the body we can undo the negative effects of our sedentary lifestyle.

Breath freely

In these postures can help encourage rapid growth and awareness. With a little practice, back-bending can stimulate the central nervous system, boost the immune system, help counteract damage of bad posture by realigning the spine, relieving back pain, bronchial distress and even frozen shoulders. Aside from the amazing physical benefits there are also psychological and emotion benefits.

Shift Energy blocks

Back-bends help to shift energy leaving the mind more clear and focused. Back-bends help to balance and open the heart chakra ,one of the seven energy centre.

Backbends for Depression.

One of the most renowned yogi’s in the world B.K.S Iyengar recommends back-bending for depression.

Yin Yoga Workshop to reverse residual stagnation before Spring.

Although the long dark days of winter have their upsides such as snuggling up by an open fire and eating wholesome winter food. Our annual festival of hibernation and quiet reflection can result in physical stagnation, a foggy mind, and a sluggish immune system.

Water is the primary element of winter. With a Yin practice that focuses on the water element, we can stimulate the flow of prana (energy) and restore an overall sense of vitality in the body. The stimulation of prana can also take you out of the stagnation in life and help you move through your intentions and move forward, setting up your mind, body, and life for success once spring arrives.

In this workshop, we will target the kidneys and urinary bladder meridians which are the primary organs that move water through the body. We will be paying particular attention to the Back and Hips to release tightness, increase flexibility and ease pain. The specific postures in Yin Yoga stimulate meridian lines that run down the spine as well as down the back of the legs and up the inner thighs and will boost our energy levels, sharpen our minds and promotes emotional equilibrium.

This workshop will prepare you so that you are ready to invite in the new that spring offers!!
